The Barbados Fire Service (BFS) will host a week of activities to mark Fire Service Week 2019 under the theme: Facing the Challenges within Our Community, from Sunday, September 29, to Saturday, October 5.

The activities will kick off with an open day at the Bridgetown Fire Station, Probyn Street, The City, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

This will be followed by a number of open days at the Worthing Fire Station, Worthing, Christ Church on Tuesday, October 1; the St. John Fire Station, Four Roads, St. John on Wednesday, October 2; the Arch Hall Fire Station on Thursday, October 3, and the Airport Fire Station on Friday, October 4. The open days all begin at 10:00 a.m.

In addition, there will also be a station project at the Worthing Fire Station on Tuesday, October 1, and a Firefighter Challenge at the Arch Hall Fire Station on Thursday, October 3. They will also begin at 10:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, the annual church service will be held at the Bethel Methodist Church, Bay Street, St. Michael, on Sunday, October 13, at 9:00 a.m., to climax Fire Service Week and Fire Prevention Week. The latter will run from Sunday, October 6 until Saturday, October 12.
