Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment, Urban and Rural Development, Christopher Sinckler????

Efforts are on stream to assist young, disabled adults in establishing small businesses.

First BASE, the first phase of a project being undertaken by the Barbados Association for Supported Employment, will be launched tomorrow, Saturday, March 20, at Greenwich Village, St. James at 10:00 a.m.

The project, in collaboration with the Learning Centre, is designed to develop a number of employment opportunities for disabled school-leavers, including poultry rearing, food preparation, laundry services, cosmetology, woodworking, and upholstery manufacture and repair. Each business is projected to fully employ three or four young persons, or provide work for 10 to 12 individuals on a part time basis.

Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment, Urban and Rural Development, Christopher Sinckler, will deliver the feature address to launch the project.
