Persons interested in tracing their family history will get an opportunity to do so when the first Genealogy Marketplace takes place on Friday, August 5, at the Archives Department, Black Rock, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A joint effort between the Archives Department and the Barbados Tourism Product Authority, the event will feature exhibits and documentaries; and discussions on family history, genealogical research and communities in Barbados.

Indigenous foods will also be available, as well as traditional Bajan games such as warri, stick licking and marbles.

Genealogist, Sandra Taitt-Eaddy, of Who Do You Think You Are, will be on hand to help persons with any questions or queries on family research.
