Spaces are still available for Barbadians interested in joining the new fitness and nutrition programme coordinated by the ANNU Institute and the Community Development Department.

The programme is free and started at the Bayville, Ellerton, Oistins, Waterford and Speightstown centres last week.

Director of Health and Human Resources at the ANNU Institute, Ricardo Sealy, said registration will remain open until month-end and he urged all Barbadians to take advantage of this great opportunity.

He described the response at the Speightstown Resource Centre as "very good", adding that there were still some spaces available for registration at all of the centres.

The free fitness and nutrition course falls under the ???Communities Activating Barbados’ (CAB) programme and will run for 24 weeks.

The classes are being held at Waterford Community Centre on Saturdays from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., Mondays at the Bayville Community Centre, Wednesdays at Ellerton, Thursdays at Speightstown and Fridays at the Oistins Community Centre.

They will begin at 5:30 and run until 7:00 p.m. and theme of the course is "Living a Healthier and Happier Life".

Mr. Sealy also announced that participants will have the option of staying on afterwards for a free hour-long self-defence course.

He stated this programme was developed after requests from several female participants.

Registration will take place at the various centres, or at the Community Development Department, Warrens Office Complex, Fourth Floor, Warrens, St. Michael. Persons may also contact this agency at telephone numbers 310-1701 or 310-1705. ??
