Efforts to rid the island of the aedes egypti mosquito, the carrier of dengue fever, will continue next week when St. Philip, St. John, St. Peter and St. Michael will be fogged, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day.

On Monday, October 1, the Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health will fog the St. Philip districts of Vineyard, Padmore Village, Bushy Park, Parish Land, Church Village, Marchfield, Gaskin Land, Harrows, Oughterson and the environs.

The following day, Tuesday, October 2, the team will spray Pot House, Glebe Land, Colleton, Colleton Gardens, Cliff Cottage, Coach Hill, Welch Village, Bath Hill, Sargeant Street, Haynes Hill, Cottage Land, Palmers and the surrounding areas in St. John.??

On Wednesday, October 3, the St. Peter neighbourhoods of Black Bess, Bakers, Bakers Woods, Sion Hill, Rock Dundo, Upper Carlton and the environs, will be fogged. The following day, Thursday, October 4, the St. Michael districts of Barbarees Hill, Brewster’s Road, Richmond Gap, President Kennedy Drive, Westbury Road, St. Leonard’s Avenue, Fontabelle, Kensington New Road, Lakes Folly, Chapman Lane, Emmerton Lane, Reed Street, Mason Hall Street, Baxters Road, Spencer’s Gap, Rock Gap, Wharton Gap and Marshall Gap with all avenues, will be treated.

On Friday, October 5, the team will remain in that parish and focus on Reece Road, Reece Land, Flagstaff Road, Lower Streats Road, Lower Ifill Road, Upper Collymore Rock, Highgate Gardens, Highgate Park, Villa Road, Beckles Gap, Warner’s Gap, Burkes Land, Burkes Road, London Road, Eversley Road, Brittons New Road, Valerie, Forde’s Road, Cummings Road, McClean Gap, Weirs Gap, Scotts Gap, Perkins Gap, Brittons Cross Road, Millyard, Brydens Avenue, Hillbury Road and the surrounding areas.

Householders are asked to assist in the fogging drive by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog and pedestrians and motorists should proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.?? Parents are also advised to prevent their children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
