As part of its ongoing efforts to control and reduce the presence of the deadly aedes aegypti mosquito, the Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Unit will continue its fogging of a number of districts throughout the island next week.

On Monday, January 23, the team will visit Christ Church when Montrose Development, Silver Hill, Silver Hill Housing Area, Silver Hill Landing Scheme, Kendall Hill, Kendal Hill Development, Messiah Development, Maxwell Plains and its environs will be fogged.

The next day, Tuesday, January 24, fogging will continue in Christ Church, this time with Maxwell Hill, Maxwell Main Road, Moravian Gap, Maxwell Gardens, Laynes Road, Hilton Road, Top Rock, Graeme Hall Terrace, Fairholme Gardens, Welches, Cane Vale and surrounding districts being fogged.

Efforts to eliminate the mosquito continue on Wednesday, January 25, in St. James when Hoytes Village, Hoytes Terrace, Holders Hill, John’s Plains, Bagatelle Terrace, Bennetts Tenantry, Arch Hall and adjacent areas will be targetted.

The exercise moves to some districts in St. Michael on Thursday, January 26, and Green Hill, North and South Friendship Drive, Mahaica Gap, Lewis Gap, Storey Gap, Lodge Terrace its environs are scheduled to be fogged.

The team will remain in St. Michael on Friday, January 27.?? On that day, Bridge Gap, Black Rock Main Road, Ferneihurst, Deacons Road, Jones Land, Deacons Court, Lennox Avenue, Weekes Land, Seales Land, Greaves Land, Small Land, Wilkinson Land, Hanschell Land, Alkins Land, Belair Land, Richmond Gap, Eagle Hall, President Kennedy Drive, Westbury Road, Wilkinson Road, Goodland and neighbouring districts will be visited.

Fogging will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. each day, and householders are asked to assist in the elimination of the deadly aedes aegypti mosquito by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists must proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are advised to prohibit their children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
