The Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Unit will continue its fogging programme next week, as part of its continuing efforts to reduce the presence of the deadly aedes aegypti mosquito on the island.

Fogging starts in the north on Monday, February 6, when the Whim, Mile-and-a- Quarter, Clarkes Road, Millionaire Road, Tom Bend Road, Reservoir Road, Corbins Road, Major Walk, Around the Town, Farm Road, Rectory Road, Battaleys and the surrounding areas in St. Peter will be fogged.

The following day, Tuesday, February 7, the team will remain in St Peter, this time targeting Station Hill, Douglas Development, Ashton Hall, Mile-and-a-Quarter, Retreat, Maynards Landing Scheme, Maynards Development and the adjacent districts.

On Wednesday, February 8, the team will move to St. Lucy, where they will fog Josey Hill, Mount Gay Tenantry, Pickerings, Durhams, Jemmotts Cottage, Chance Hall, Glendalough, Mount View, Rock Hall, Peteres, Oxford, Church Hill, Church Hill Drive, Lowlands, St. Clements and the environs.

Efforts to eliminate the mosquito continue in St. Michael on Thursday, February 9.?? On that day, Walmar Lodge, Black Rock Main Road, Brighton, Free Hill with Avenues, Stanmore Crescent, St. Stephens Hill, Goddards Road, Golden Acre, Cave Hill, Dover Crescent, University Drive and the neighbouring districts are scheduled to be fogged.
Fogging culminates in St. Michael on Friday, February 10, when Brandons, Birds River, Deacons Farm, Brighton, Deacons Road, Rosemont, Black Rock Main Road, Ashdeane Village, Carlton Road and the environs will be visited.
Fogging will begin at 4:30 and end at 7:30 p.m. each day, and householders are asked to assist in the elimination of the deadly aedes aegypti mosquito by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.
Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists must proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.
Parents are advised to prohibit their children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
