After a short break, the Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Unit will resume fogging in some parts of the island next week as it continues its effort to reduce the presence of the aedes aegypti mosquito on the island.

Fogging will begin in Christ Church on Monday, July 23, where Harts Gap with Avenues, St Matthias Road, Pleasant Hall, Marine Gardens, Rockley Road with Avenues, Dayrells Road, Hastings Main Road, Balmoral Gap, Halls Gap, Hood Road, Villlage Road, Brownes Gap, Coconut Walk, Nelson Road, Exeter Road, York Road, Old Navy Road, Pavilion Court and the surrounding areas will be treated.

The following day, Tuesday, July 24, fogging continues in Christ Church in Montrose Development, Silver Hill, Silver Hill Housing Area, Silver Hill Landing Scheme, Kendall Hill, Kendal Hill Development, Massiah Development, Maxwell Plains and the neighbouring districts.

On Wednesday, July 25, more communities in Christ Church will be visited.?? These are: Newton Terrace, Newton Crescent, Lodge Road with Gaps, Church Hill, Thornbury Hill, Durants Development and the environs.

The team will move to St. Michael on Thursday, July 26, and Green Hill, North & South Friendship Drive, Mahaica Gap, Lewis Gap, Storey Gap, Lodge Terrace and the surrounding districts will be fogged.

Fogging will culminate in St. Michael on Friday, July 27.?? This time the districts to be visited are: White Hall Main Road, White Hall Tenantry Road, Whitehall #1, 2 & 3, Eden Lodge, Eden Lodge Landing Scheme, Eden Lodge Housing Area, Cave Hill and the neighbouring areas.

Fogging will begin at 4:30 and end at 7:30 p.m. each day, and householders are asked to assist in the elimination of the deadly Aedes Aegypti mosquito by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists are advised to proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are also advised to prohibit their children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.??
