Six parishes will be fogged next week when the Ministry of Health continues its programme to rid the island of the Aedes Egypti mosquito.
Fogging starts on Monday, February 25, in the St. Philip districts of Rock Hall, Harlington, St. Martins, Manderley Gardens, Mangrove Park, Garrett Road, Mangrove, Oldbury Terrace, Oldbury Road, Mangrove Gardens, Mangrove Terrace, Kirtons and surrounding areas.
The following day, Tuesday, February 26, the team from the Vector Control Unit will turn attention to St. George, fogging Drax Hall Tenantry, Drax Hall Jump, Malverton, Bydes Mill, Mount Tenantry, Frenches, Lukes and their environs.
Christ Church districts of Durants, Callenders, Thornbury Hill, Gibbons Boggs, Pegwell Gardens, Pegwell Park, Waverley Road, Pegwell Boggs and nearby districts will be fogged on Wednesday, February 27.
On Thursday, February 28, areas abut and bound St. James and St. Peter will be sprayed including Sion Hill, Rock Dundo, Upper Carlton, Bakers, Black Bess, Bakers Woods, Rock Hall and surrounding areas.
Fogging culminates in St. Michael on Friday, March 1. The areas to be sprayed are Crystal Heights, Clermont, Warrens Park North, Warrens Park East, Clermont Park, Clermont Development and environs.
All fogging runs from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. and householders are asked to assist by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.
Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists must proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.
Parents are instructed to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
