The Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness will concentrate its mosquito eradication efforts in the parishes of St. Thomas and St. Peter next week.

The team will begin on Monday, August 16, by fogging a number of St. Thomas districts, including Rock Hampton, Brown Gap, Arthur Seat, Melrose, Edgehill Terrace, Edgehill Gardens, Chancery, Vernon Edgar Drive, Welches Heights, and surrounding areas.

They will visit St. Michael and St. Thomas on Tuesday, August 17, and spray Jackmans, Friendly Hall, Hothersal Turning 1 and 2, Hothersal Terrace, Brown’s Gap, and environs.

The Unit will complete the fogging exercise in St. Thomas on Wednesday, August 18.  The targeted areas will be Welches Terrace 1 to 8, Welches South 1 to 10, Terrace Loop, Bagatelle Gardens, Redman’s Village, Kew Land, Alameda, and neighboring districts.

On Thursday, August 19, the Unit will take the fogging campaign into St. Peter.  They will go into Clarke’s Road, Carbon Road, Greaves Road, Reservoir Road, Millionaire Road, The Whim, Olton Road, Douglas Development, Tom Ben Road, Valencia Drive, and environs.

Fogging for the week will conclude on Friday, August 20, in the following St. Peter districts: Mile-and-a-Quarter, Maynards, Valley View, Maynards Ridge, Convent Drive, Sunset Heights, Coral Cliff, Leslie Garden, Maynards Housing Development, Rose Hill, Hope Land, Skeete Road, Lower Rose Hill, Ben-hill Woods, and surrounding areas.

The fogging programme takes place between 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. daily.

Members of the public are asked to note that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
