The Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness will focus its mosquito eradication efforts in the parishes of St. James and St. Michael next week.

On Monday, December 14, the team will visit the following St. James districts: St. Silas, St. Silas Heights with avenues, and environs.

For the rest of the week they will concentrate their efforts in a number of St. Michael districts. On Tuesday, December 15, the Unit will target Passage Road, Alleyne’s Land, Strathclyde with Avenues, Peterkins Land with Avenues, Eagle Hall, Jubilee Gap, Waterloo Gardens, and surrounding areas.

The next day, Wednesday, December 16, they will go into Barbarees Hill, Brewsters Road, Thomas Gap with Avenues, Westbury Road, President Kennedy Drive, and neighbouring districts.

On Thursday, December 17, they will fog Pine Road, Belleville with Avenues, Belmont Road, George Street, Stevenson Land, Bannister Land, Campaign Land, Martindales Road, and environs.

The team from the Unit will conclude fogging for the week on Friday, December 18, when they visit Halls Road, Marl Hole, Train Line Road, Carrington Village, Alkins Road, Quakers Road, Chase Road, and surrounding areas.

Members of the public are asked to note that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control.  In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. daily.  Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter.
