St. George will be the area of focus for the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit next week.

The communities of Jericho, Citrus Drive, Upper Workmans, Jordan, Workmans, Rock Hall Park and environs will be sprayed on Monday, July 12.

On Tuesday, July 13, the team will visit Eastlynne, Bulkeley Heights and Terrace, Good Intent, Crawford Road, James Sisnett Road, Ruth King Road, Sargeant Road, Blenman Road, Eustace Lashley Road, Glen Acres and surrounding districts.

Lower Brighton, Ellerton Housing Area, Upper Brighton, Buttals Tenantry, Ellerton Garden, Bulkeley Meadows and neighbouring communities are scheduled to be fogged on Wednesday, July 14.

The exercise will continue on Thursday, July 15, in Cottage Heights, Cottage Crescent, Grove Terrace, Grove Tenantry Road, Bridge Cot, Cottage Grove, Cottage Court, West Cottage Terrace, Old Post Office Road and environs.

And on Friday, July 16, it will be carried out in Salisbury, Gun Hill, Taitt Hill, Walkers Terrace, Valley View, Glebe Garden, Glebe Land, Walkers Park East, Frank Avenue, Walkers Close, Thorpes Cottage, Rose Gate, Second Avenue Newbury, Newbury Heights, Country Road and nearby districts.

The fogging exercises will be carried out between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. each day.  Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter.

Members of the public are reminded that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the control of the Vector Control Unit.  In such circumstances, the Unit will return to affected communities as soon as it can.
