The Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Unit’s efforts to control the spread of dengue and other mosquito borne diseases continues next week when a number of districts across Barbados will be fogged.
On Monday, September 11, the following districts in St. James will be fogged: Oxnards Heights, Husbands Heights, Husbands Development, Ricks Road, Orchid Drive, Tulip Drive, Croton Drive, Blue Bell Drive, Oxnards Heights and the environs.
The following day, Tuesday, September 12, the team will move to St. Peter and spray Castle Tenantry, Gays, Mount No.1, Mount No.2, Boscobelle, Boscobelle Terrace, Collins, Collins Tenantry and surrounding districts.
On Wednesday, September 13, the Vector Control Unit team will visit St. Thomas and carry out the fogging operations in Cane Garden Park, Ginger Lily Drive, South View Drive, Canewood Road, Bibby’s Lane with Avenues, Proute with Avenues and the environs.
On Thursday, September 14, the team will visit Christ Church and spray Atlantic Shores, Coral Drive, Pearl Drive, Spring Terrace, Light House Lane, Oyster Crescent, Seaside Drive, Ocean Mist Close and surrounding districts.
The Vector Control team Unit will be in St. Michael on Friday, September 15, and the areas of concentration will be Two Mile Hill, Haggatt Hall, Barkers Road, Neil’s Tenantry, Rouen Road, Belle Gully, Tichbourne, Howell Cross Road and neighbouring districts.
The fogging operations run from 4:30 -7:30 p.m. each day and residents are reminded to open their doors and windows to allow the fog to penetrate. Parents are reminded that children should desist from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
