Come next Monday, July 18, the Ministry of Health’s efforts to rid the country of the dreaded aedes aegypti mosquito will recommence in earnest. That is when the team from the Vector Control Unit starts fogging again after a four and a half month hiatus.

Supervisor with the Unit, Lindsay Greaves, has reminded householders to assist in reducing the incidence of dengue fever, which is caused by the mosquito, by opening all windows and doors when fogging is done in their area.

In addition, he has asked pedestrians and motorists to exercise caution when they encounter fogging operations on the streets; while persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog.

The public should check the news media daily to find out the fogging schedule. This can also be obtained by calling the Vector Control Unit at 467-9406.
