Four parishes will be targeted when the Ministry of Health continues its fogging programme to rid the island of the aedes aegypti mosquito, and by extension, dengue fever.

The team from the Vector Control Unit will begin on Monday, October 28, with the parish of St. Philip being the focus. Districts to be fogged are: Union Hall, Union Development, Ruby Park, Ruby Tenantry, Work Hall, Union Park and their environs.

On Tuesday, October 29, the team will turn its attention to the parishes of St. Thomas and St. Michael. The districts to be sprayed include: Mt. Wilton, Isolation Road, Walkes Springs, Proute, Exchange, Bibby???s Lane, Friendship Terrace, Mahaica Gap, Green Hill, Lewis Gap, Storey Gap and surrounding areas.

A return to St. Michael on Wednesday, October 30, will see Belleview Road, Goddings Road with Avenues, Glendairy Gap, Deans Village, Bridge Road, Flint Hall, Hindsbury Road, Nurse Land, Gully Hill, Fairfield, Tweedside Road, Welches Terrace, Martinique Road and their surroundings being fogged.

St. Thomas and St. Michael will again be the focus on Thursday, October 31. The areas to be fogged include: Arch Hall, Bennetts, Rock Hall, Fire Hill, Rock Hall Tenantry, Content, Rock Hall Development, Free Hill, Black Rock Main Road, Stanmore Crescent, St. Stephen???s Hill, Plymouth Square, Cave Hill, University Drive and their environs.

Fogging culminates in St. James and St. Michael on Friday, November 1. The areas to be visited are Clover Crescent, Prior Park Crescent, Crystal Heights, Clermont, Clerview Heights, Husbands New Development, Arlie Tenantry, Reservoir Road, Warrens Crescent, Warrens Park North, Welches Grove and their environs.

Fogging runs from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. and householders are asked to assist by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog while pedestrians and motorists must proceed with caution if they encounter fogging operations on the street.

Parents are instructed to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the machine.
