The Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Programme will continue next week in the parishes of Christ Church, St. Philip and St. Michael, from Monday March 23 until Thursday, March 26.

Fogging will commence in Christ Church and St. Philip on Monday, March 23, with visits to St. Patrick’s, Sion Hill, Pritchards Hill, Packers Valley, Woodbourne, Highland Tenantry, Foursquare Tenantry and the environs.

The following day, Tuesday, March 24, the team will move to St. Michael. Areas to be visited are Bay Street, Wellington Street, River Road, Constitution Road, Nelson Street, Beckwith Street, Combermere Street, Vine Street, Spruce Street, Dukes Alley, Cyprus Street, King William Street, Queen Street, London Bourne Towers, Roebuck Street, Gills Road, Greene Field, Cooks Alley, Garden Land and surrounding districts.

On Wednesday, March 25, the team will journey to Spooners Hill, Grazettes New Road, Grazettes Court, Grazettes Landing Scheme, Grazettes Housing Area, Piedmont Park, Pillersdorf Development, Long Gap with Avenues, Rock Gap, Allamby Gap, Woodstock Gap and nearby areas.

Fogging will conclude on Thursday,  March 26, when the Vector Control Unit sprays districts in Barbarees Hill, Brewsters Gap, Richmond Gap, President Kennedy Drive, Westbury Road, St. Leonard’s Avenue, Passage Road, Passage Gardens, Bank Hall Main Road, Bank Hall + Road, Mannings Land, Peterkins, Strathclyde, King’s Gap, Bosvigo Gap, Jubilee Gap, Nurse Land, Thornes Land, Kensington Lodge, King Street, Hunte Street, Chapman Street, White Park, King’s Village, Lightfoot Lane, Sobers Lane, Mahogany Lane, Green Park Lane, Baxters Road and the environs.

The fogging programme will be on hiatus from Friday, March 27, until further notice. 
Fogging runs from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. each day, and householders are urged to assist in the control of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which causes dengue, by opening all windows and doors to allow the fog to enter.

Pedestrians and motorists should be cautious when encountering the fogging operations on the street. Persons with respiratory problems are asked to protect themselves from inhaling the fog.
