As part of celebrations by the Barbados National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to mark International Museum Day, Folkestone Park and Marine Museum will host an open day next Thursday, May 18, from 10:00 a.m. to   3:00 p.m.

Activities will include environmental displays hosted by the Bellairs Research Institute, the Project Management Coordination Unit, the Future Centre Trust and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

There will also be plant and marine toys on sale, while the souvenir shop will offer discounts of between five and 50 per cent on items.

Members of the public are invited to attend the open day and take part in the activities. For further information, persons should call 422-2314.

ICOM is a diplomatic forum made up of representatives from 137 countries and territories. It also boasts an international network of more than 30,000 museum professionals around the world.
