The Folkestone Visitors Centre will offer all those who come through its doors, and residents of surrounding districts a new experience when the Sustainable Land Management Showcase is launched tomorrow.

Special Projects Officer at the National Conservation Commission (NCC), Ricardo Marshall, said the showcase, which will be launched at the Folkestone Visitors Centre tomorrow at 6:30 p.m., will seek to provide an interpretation of the terrestrial and marine resources of the watershed.

In addition, he said residents and business owners will have an even greater opportunity to become involved in the ongoing work at the complex, while people of all ages will learn about what sustainable land and marine management means.

This forms part of Stage One of the Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve redevelopment project being undertaken by the NCC which has engaged the services of Blackbird Design from Calgary Canada.

Blackbird Design was involved in the formulation of the original designs and proposals contained in the Feasibility Studies of Harrison’s Cave and associated sites, Carlisle Bay and Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve, completed and presented in March 2000 by Axys Environmental Consulting (Barbados) Limited.
