The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Environmental Health Department reminds all Crop Over food vendors that they must be in possession of a valid “Permit to Operate a Temporary Restaurant”.

Persons should apply for the permits at the Environmental Health Department in the polyclinic which is closest to where the event will be held.

Additionally, applications must be made at least two weeks before the event, (for example, the closing date for any activities taking place on August 3, 2022, is July 16, 2022).  This allows for inspection of the applicant’s premises to ensure that conditions are conducive to the preparation of food that is wholesome for human consumption.

The Ministry of Health also reminds persons that all food handlers must be in possession of a valid medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner. A medical will be valid if it is issued in the year 2022 and expires on December 31, 2022.
