Matters of mutual interest between this country and Italy were discussed yesterday when Barbados’ Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, met with Italian Ambassador, Paolo Serpi.

During the meeting, which took place at the Ministry’s Culloden Road headquarters, the two discussed the possibility of technical cooperation between their respective countries, as well as some issues pertinent to tourism.

Talks also centered on the possible participation of this country in the World Expo, which is scheduled to be held in Milan, Italy, in 2015 under the theme Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.

Barbados and Italy started diplomatic relations in 1977.
