The Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health will continue its efforts to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquito when it carries out fogging operations in four parishes next week.

The first of these will be St. Lucy on Monday, August 12, when the Unit goes into the following districts: Greenidges, Retreat Road, Springer Road, Animal Flower Cave, Connell Town, River Bay, Hope Road, Spring Hall, Chance Hall, Spring Garden, Coconut Hall, Bishop Road and the environs.

On Tuesday, August 13, the team will stay in St. Lucy, but this time they will concentrate their efforts on Josey Hill, Rock Hall, Chance Hall Hill, Jemmotts, Durham and surrounding areas.

The Unit will move on to the south when they visit Christ Church on Wednesday, August 14. The districts of Kingsland, Kingsland Heights, Kingsland Gardens, Kingsland Terrace, Wotton Road, Best Road and the environs will be targetted for fogging.

The next day, Thursday, August 15, both St. Philip and Christ Church will be visited by the Unit and the following areas will be fogged: Woodbourne, Woodbourne Park, Berlin Road, St. Patrick???s, Bright Hall, Hopefield, Walronds, Charnocks, Hopefield Development and neighbouring districts.

Fogging operations will conclude in the parish of St. Michael on Friday, August 16, when the team turns its focus to Howells Cross Road, Two Mile Hill, Haggatt Hall, Baxters Road, Belle Gully, Neil???s Tenantry, Tichbourne and surrounding areas.

The fogging programme runs from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. each day. Persons with respiratory ailments should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while children should desist from running behind the fogging vehicle.??
