With the rise in cases of leptospirosis, the Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health will be continuing its distribution of rodent bait, free of charge, to the public.

Come Saturday, September 26, between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon, environmental health officers will be at Welches, St. Thomas distributing the bait. This will be undertaken next to Spooner’s shop, located off Highway 2A.

There will also be educational sessions on the proper use of the bait and prevention methods against leptospirosis.

The aim of the exercise is to significantly reduce the rodent population in this area, with the wider objective of stemming leptospirosis on the island.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
