The Fair Trading Commission will host its second Competition Law and Policy webinar this month, as part of its free webinar series which seeks to educate participants about the critical role that competition plays in the marketplace.

Hosted in collaboration with the United States Federal Trade Commission (U.S. FTC), the webinar, which will be held on Thursday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. EST, will focus on Abuse of Dominance and Exclusionary Practices.

The 90-minute session will feature Counsel for Asian Competition Affairs in the U.S. FTC’s Office of International Affairs, Andrew Heimert.  Mr. Heimert is responsible for the U.S. FTC’s relationships with competition agencies in China, Japan, Korea and several other Asian jurisdictions.

He is also responsible for international intellectual property issues and works frequently on projects for the International Competition Network’s Unilateral Conduct Working Group.

In his presentation, Mr. Heimert will examine the basic principles and core elements of abuse of dominance, relevant case studies and theories of harm that are associated with anticompetitive conduct, such as predatory pricing and price discrimination.
