As activities for Heritage Month continue, members of the public will have an opportunity to explore Barbados??? UNESCO World Heritage Property: Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison, at the Garrison Heritage Breakfast and Tour.

The tour will be held on Sunday, June 29, and walkers will assemble at Hilton Barbados and depart for the two-hour trek at 7:30 a.m.

It will stop at the Clock Tower/Main Guard, the ancient cannons, St. Ann???s Fort, Brigade House and the Barbados Museum and Historical Society.

Walkers will also visit the sites where the flag of Barbados was raised, and where the island???s only living National Hero, the Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers, was knighted.

Persons on the tour will learn in an entertaining and intriguing way about the history of the Garrison, which not only dates back to the 1600s, but is also one of the only ???living??? Garrisons in the Western Hemisphere.

The journey will climax at 9:30 a.m. with a light but delicious Bajan breakfast at the historic Charles Fort at Hilton Barbados.

The monthly tour will be held the last Sunday of every month. It is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in collaboration with Hilton Barbados, the Barbados Museum and Historical Society and the National Cultural Foundation.
