World Day For Safety And Health Seminar This Month

The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with REA Envirohealth International and the International Labour Organisation, will host a seminar this month to commemorate World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

The event will be held on Friday, April 25, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

BADMC To Host Southern Farmers??? Market

Barbadians are invited to support local farmers at the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation???s Southern Farmers??? Market, being held under the theme Grow local???Buy local.

It will take place at the Fairy Valley Plantation House, next to the DHL Building, Christ Church, on Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days.

Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase lamb sausages, lamb burgers and beef sausages. Fresh vegetables, meats, herbs and fruits, along with cassava, sweet potato and breadfruit flours will also be on sale. Additionally, there will also be fresh milk, eggs and agro processed products like jams, oils, wines and sauces, as well as plants, flowers, and jewelry on sale.

Those attending the market will have the opportunity to have their blood pressure, blood sugar and Body Mass Index checked by the Knights Advantage Club. Educational programmes and tours of the Market have also been designed for children of all ages.
