SUBMIT QUALIFICATIONS TO BCC BY TOMORROW

Individuals who have applied to the Barbados Community College (BCC) as prospective students and have not been interviewed, are advised that they will have until tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20, to bring their original Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) qualifications to the college located at ???Eyrie???, Howells Cross Roads, St. Michael.

However, this does not include applicants who have applied to the Divisions of Health Science, The Hospitality Institute, Commerce (Part-time), Computer Studies (Part-time) and General & Continuing Education (Part-time).

NIFCA 2013 DEADLINES IN SEPTEMBER

Persons who wish to put their creativity to the test are reminded that entries for the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) 2013 close next month.

Submissions for the Performing Arts (Music, Dance and Drama/Speech); Visual Arts; Photography; and Film & Video Disciplines must be received by Monday, September 2. In the Literary Arts category (Adult Script entries), the deadline is set for Friday, September 6. The deadline for school and junior entries for all disciplines is Monday, September 16, while the deadline for Culinary Arts is Friday, October 4.

Participants have been encouraged to read the rules and regulations, which may be accessed online at www.ncf.bb. Entry forms, which are also available online, may be obtained from the National Cultural Foundation Headquarters, West Terrace, St. James.

RECIPE REQUEST FOR ???STAMP OUT DISEASE & LIVE WITH EASE??? CALENDAR

Creators of healthy recipes have been encouraged to submit them to be a part of the Stamp Out Disease & Live With Ease 2014 calendar, which is being compiled by the St. George Parish Independence Committee.

Recipes may be for food, drink or desserts and should contain at least one local ingredient. In addition to the recipes, persons must submit their name, telephone number and address. Entries should be addressed to the St. George Parish Independence Committee and submitted to the Valley Resource Centre, the Glebe, St. George or via email to stgeorgeindependencecommittee@gmail.com.

CLEAN-UP FOR JACOB???S LADDER

???Jacob???s Ladder???, Station Hill, St. Michael will receive a ???face-lift??? when the St. Michael Central Constituency Council conducts a debushing and clean-up exercise on Tuesday, August 27, from 8:00 a.m.

The Council is, therefore, inviting residents of the surrounding communities to participate. Interested persons may contact Esther Marshall at 426-0403.
