REGISTRATION ON FOR CXC JANUARY 2014 EXAMS

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has advised that registration for the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) January 2014 examinations will commence on Monday, September 2 and close on Friday, October 4, 2013.

Persons registering should do so between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

Registration forms are available from the Examinations Section of the Ministry, located at the Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael, or they may be accessed online at http://mes.gov.bb.

To facilitate the registration process, students should bring with them the relevant fees; their Barbados Identification card, driver???s licence, passport or a certified passport size photograph as evidence of identification; and a blue/black ink pen.

The examination fees payable in cash on registration for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certification (CSEC) are entry fee, $36.00 per candidate; subject fee, $36.50 per subject and a local entrance fee of $30.00.

The local entrance fee covers all examinations which the candidate may write during the January period.

All fees should be paid to the Finance Section of the Ministry of Education, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

Subject entries with a school based assessment component will only be accepted from ???Re-sit Candidates???.

According to a Ministry official, candidates should choose their subjects carefully, to avoid having to write two or more papers concurrently. If this happens, no alternate arrangements will be made.

Individuals are also advised that clashes of subject papers with those of other examining bodies cannot be reconciled or adjusted by the Ministry.

Candidates writing examinations with more than one examination body have therefore been advised to consult the timetables for the respective examinations, before registering.

A copy of the January timetable is posted on the CXC???s web page, www.cxc.org. This link may also be visited from the web page http://mes.gov.bb.
