PRESENTATION OF 99 NEWLY ASSIGNED SENIOR TEACHERS

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation will officially present 99 newly assigned Senior Teachers of Primary Schools, during a ceremony at the Queen???s Park Steel Shed, The City, on Friday, August 23, beginning at 10:00 am.

Permanent Secretary, Cecile Humphrey; Chief Education Officer, Laurie King, in addition to Deputy Chief Education Officers, and other senior members of staff will be in attendance.

LAND TAX BILLS NOW DUE

Members of the public are reminded that Land Tax Bills for 2013-2014 must be paid in full on or before Wednesday, September 11, if they are to receive the 10 per cent discount which is allowed on all accounts.

The Land Tax Department has advised that if payments are not completed by the end of the above-mentioned period, a five per cent reduction will be available for those who pay on or before Friday, October 11. Discounts will be offered only for the current tax year.

Bills should be paid at the main office in the old N.I.S Building, Fairchild Street, Bridgetown, or the branches in Oistins and Holetown. Taxpayers seeking additional information should call 426-5686.

Meanwhile, those persons requesting an agricultural rebate have been urged to start the application process early to avoid losing the 10 per cent refund.

NAB CELEBRATING 33rd ANNIVERSARY

The National Assistance Board (NAB) will host a church service this Sunday, August 25, to celebrate its 33rd anniversary.

The service will take place at Restoration Ministries International, Olympus Theatre, Sheraton Mall, Sargeants Village, Christ Church, beginning at 9:30 a.m., under the theme We Make a Difference. Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development, Steve Blackett, will deliver remarks.

The NAB is the primary provider of a wide range of services which aim to ???maintain the dignity of elderly persons in Barbados???. All are invited to attend the service.
