???EAT RIGHT TO LIVE RIGHT??? PANEL DISCUSSION THIS WEEK

Eat Right to Live Right will be the topic of a panel discussion hosted by the St. George Parish Independence Committee this Thursday, August 29.

The discussion, which will be held in conjunction with the Ellerton Wesleyan Mighty Men, will take place at the Ellerton Wesleyan Holiness Church beginning at 7:30 p.m. ??

A nutritionist and nurse will be on hand to demonstrate to persons how they should use more foods which aid health and longevity.

SPIRIT OF THE NATION TALENT SHOWS IN SEPTEMBER

Independence will be in the air when the Spirit of the Nation Talent Shows are hosted throughout next month.

The first show, for the Northern Zone (St. Peter, St. Andrew, St. Lucy and St. James) will be held on Saturday, September 14, at the Alleyne Secondary School, Belleplaine, St. Andrew; while the Southern Zone show (Christ Church, St. Michael, St. Philip) will be hosted at the Ivan Harewood Centre, Christ Church Parish Church on Saturday, September 21.

The third show, in the Central Zone (St. George, St. Thomas, St. John, St. Joseph), will be held at Lester Vaughn Secondary School, Cane Garden, St. Thomas, on Saturday, September 28.

All zonal shows will begin at 6:00 pm. and are free to members of the public, who are encouraged to attend and support their local parish talent.

ST. ANDREW PARISH INDEPENDENCE COMMITTEE EVENTS IN SEPTEMBER

September will be a month to remember as the St. Andrew Parish Independence committee hosts a wide range of activities for the public under the theme Helping Everyone Achieve Results Together (H.E.A.R.T.).

A church service at the Belleplaine Church of God, Belleplaine, will launch the series of events on Sunday, September 1, at 9:00 a.m. This will be followed by a Crab Night at the Ermy Bourne Highway on Friday, September 6, beginning at 8:00 p.m.; a Motorcade beginning at Belleplaine playing field on Saturday, September 7, starting at 10:00 a.m.; and a Masters vs. Youngsters football match at the Belleplaine playing field on Friday, September 13, from 6:00 p.m.

Parish talent will be featured on Saturday, September 14, when the Spirit of the Nation Northern Zone Show is held at the Alleyne School, Belleplaine, from 6:00 p.m. On Monday, September 16, Zumba Aerobics will be the featured activity at Chalky Mount Primary school beginning at 7:00 p.m.; while a Parent Conference at the DaCosta Edwards Primary School, Belleplaine, will be hosted on Wednesday, September 18, starting at 4:00 p.m.

The focus on the family will continue on Friday, September 20, with a Primary School Quiz at A. DaCosta Edwards Primary School beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a Community Quiz that night commencing at 7:00 p.m. at the Alleyne School.
The month???s activities will round off with an early morning hike on Saturday, September 21; a Cook Off at the Alleyne School on Friday, September 27, from 10:30 a.m.; a Health Fair/Farmers Market/Health Run on Saturday, September 28, at the Belleplaine Playing Field; and a Senior Citizen???s Bus Ride on Sunday, September 29, from 10:00 a.m.
