New Legal Year Church Service
The Ecumenical Service to mark the commencement of the Legal Year 2014 to 2015 will take place on Monday, September 8, at the St. Mary???s Anglican Church, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Justices of Appeal, Judges of the High Court, Magistrates, Attorneys-at-law and members of the public are invited to attend this event.
St. Thomas Post Office Closure
The St. Thomas Post Office will be closed for six to eight weeks from Friday, August 29, to facilitate renovations.
This closure will not disrupt the mail delivery service, as customers will still have access to their P.O. Boxes at the post office.
In addition, postal business can be conducted at any of the other 17 post offices across the island, including the new Warrens, St. Michael post office.??Any inconvenience this closure may cause is regretted.
Beach Maintenance At Holetown
The Coastal Zone Management Unit has advised that a section of the Holetown Beach Walkway, from the Sunswept Hotel to Sunset Crest, St. James, will undergo maintenance starting Monday, September 1.
Officials at the Unit have disclosed that the maintenance work will be carried out by Innotech Services Limited, and will involve fixing, rocking, correcting displaced curbs, and the removal of sand from the walkway.
Work will be carried out between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. During this time the walkway will not be closed, but members of the public are asked to exercise caution while using the area, observe the signage and heed the advice of workmen on site.
Work on the area is expected to continue until the end of September.
