BCC ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

Persons who have been accepted to pursue studies in the Division of Health Sciences of the Barbados Community College are advised that their Orientation Programme will be held on Thursday, August 29, in the Science Auditorium at 9:30 a.m.

PROJECT S.O.F.T NOW UNDER WAY

The National Council on Substance Abuse???s annual summer camp, Project S.O.F.T (Safeguarding Our Future Today) got under way at the WISH Centre (formerly the Baptist College), Fortesque, St. Philip yesterday.

Under the theme: Healthy Youth???Healthy Community???Healthy Workforce, the 12th annual one-week residential camp is catering to 40 children who will be entering secondary school come Tuesday, September 9.

Campers will be exposed to a variety of topics including self-esteem building, staying drug free, conflict resolution and decision making, social graces and etiquette and HIV and AIDS. They will also have an opportunity to tour a number of institutions, engage in creative sessions involving drumming, drama, dance and sign language and host a movie night.

The camp concludes on Sunday, September 1.??
