Scholarships For BCC Students

Nine students from the Barbados Community College (BCC) are set to be awarded Emerging Leaders of the Americas Programme (ELAP) scholarships.

The presentation will take place tomorrow, Friday, August 28, at 10:00 a.m. in BCC???s Liberal Arts Auditorium.

All of the awardees will attend the St. Lawrence College in Canada to pursue various subjects.

Change In Date For Launch Of Celebrations

The original date of Saturday, August 29, for the official launch of the Community Independence Celebrations has been changed.

The official launch will now take place on Saturday, September 5, at 6:00 p.m., at the Speightstown Esplanade, Speightstown, St. Peter.??The Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Reminder About Carlisle Bay Stakeholders Meeting

Members of the public are reminded that there will be a meeting of the Carlisle Bay stakeholders on Saturday, August 29, at Underwater Barbados, Bay Street, St. Michael, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Persons who are a part of a business, hotel, school or community group in the Carlisle Bay area are specially invited to attend.??Officials from the Coastal Zone Management Unit will address the meeting and give updates on plans for the area.

Persons are also encouraged to participate in sampling the lionfish dishes following a demonstration on site. All are invited to attend.
