BCC To Host Session On Studying In The USA

An information session on Studying in the USA will be held this Thursday, February 6, at the Barbados Community College???s (BCC) Library, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

It will be hosted by the EducationUSA Centre at the BCC for persons with an interest in pursuing higher education in the United States of America (USA).

Persons are asked to register and reserve their seats by emailing the EducationUSA Advisers at the Centre: Faith Callender or Racquel Collymore at edusabarbados@gmail.com.

EducationUSA is a network of hundreds of advising centres in 170 countries, where millions of international students each year find accurate, comprehensive, and current information about how to apply to accredited US colleges and universities.

The EducationUSA network is supported by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which strives to foster mutual understanding between the people of the United States and those from other countries.

Productivity-Related Town Hall Meeting This Sunday

Approximately 50 employees in the Six Roads, St. Philip area will soon get an opportunity to learn how they can improve their productivity.

The National Productivity Council, in conjunction with the Minister of Labour, Senator Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo, will host a productivity-related town hall meeting on Sunday, February 9, at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, commencing at 5:00 p.m.

Consulting Workers Towards Improving Employee Productivity in Barbados is the theme of the discussion, which will have Dr. Byer Suckoo; former Principal of the BWU???s Labour College, Ulric Sealy; Human Resource Consultant, Ed Bushell; and President of the Barbados Economic Society, Jeremy Stephen, as the panellists.

The objectives of the town hall meeting are to sensitise the audience about the importance of productivity to the employee, the organisation and the country, help individuals understand what behaviours are appropriate and inappropriate for the conduct of business and explore the perceived obstacles to productivity

Committee On Ageing Compiling List Of Centenarians

The National Committee on ageing is requesting the public???s assistance in developing a database of persons aged 98 years and older.

To this end, these persons, or their caregivers, are asked to provide the following information: name; address; date of birth; and telephone numbers.
