Government Analytical Services Laboratory To Close For Two Days Next Week

The public is advised that the Government Analytical Services Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resources Management, Culloden Road, St. Michael, will be closed on Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11.

This closure is to facilitate the necessary repairs to the office???s air condition system. The department will reopen on Monday, July 14, at 8:15 a.m.

The Government Analytical Services Laboratory has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

CIMH Summer Weather And Water Camp Cancelled

The public is advised that the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology???s (CIMH) Summer Weather and Water Camp, scheduled for Monday, July 7, to Thursday, July 31, has been cancelled.

The camp, which was undersubscribed this year, is expected to return in the summer of 2015.??The CIMH has apologised for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause.

July 5 Is International Co-Operatives Day

Saturday, July 5, will be celebrated as International Co-operatives Day.

Usually celebrated annually on the first Saturday of July, the theme this year is Co-operatives Enterprises Achieve Sustainable Development for All.

Here in Barbados, celebrations will be held at the Pelican Craft Village, Princess Alice Highway, Bridgetown, and the 16 existing cooperatives are expected to be represented as they take this opportunity to showcase their products and services.

They will also educate the public on the role and functions of cooperatives, as well as highlight how people can work together in a cooperative manner.??To this end, persons can view the various exhibits from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
