Register Now For Physical Activity Workshop

The National Task Force on Physical Activity and Exercise will host a training workshop on Saturday, June 21, for persons interested in supervising or conducting physical activity sessions in their communities.

Participants will be exposed to the psychology of exercise supervision, that is, how to motivate persons to exercise; healthy nutrition and practical skills for exercise supervision.

Interested persons should contact Ministry of Health officers Donna Barker at 467-9454, or Akanni McDowell at 467-9311, to reserve a space as soon as possible.

The workshop takes place in Conference Room 509, 4th Floor, Frank Walcott Building, Culloden Road, St. Michael, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided and participants are reminded to dress appropriately to take part in the exercise sessions.

Eden Lodge Nursery School To Honour Two Community Leaders

Eden Lodge Nursery School will, on Thursday, June 12, host a ???Praise and Worship service at the school in honour of two community leaders.

Early Childhood Educator and past Principal of St. Alban???s Infants, Esm?? Bascombe, and Haldeen Foster, a school community leader, will be recognised for their ???dedicated service??? to the school over the years.

The two, who passed away in February of this year, will posthumously receive the inaugural Guardians of Our Heritage Award, which will be given annually to persons who selflessly contribute to the care of the students.

The service begins at 8:45 a.m., with the sermonette to be given by the Arch Deacon of Barbados, The Venerable Eric E. Lynch.??There will also be tributes by staff and students.
