Sensitisation Walk-Through Saturday

The Ministry of Health will continue its campaign to sensitise Barbadians about the chikungunya disease this Saturday, June 21.

Officers of the Ministry will walk through Lodge Road, Wotton Housing Area and Water Street, Christ Church, disseminating information on the disease from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Residents are asked to cooperate with Ministry officials.

Movie Night In The City This Saturday

Members of the public are invited to enjoy Movie Night in the City on Saturday, June 21, at 7:00 p.m. at the Church Village Green Community Park and Amphitheatre, Church Village, Bridgetown.

The event, which is part of Heritage Month celebrations, will showcase films produced by young Barbadian film-makers.

Movie Night in the City is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in collaboration with the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, the National Cultural Foundation and the Central Bank of Barbados. Admission is free.

Female Entrepreneurs To Showcase Heritage Products

Barbadians will have the opportunity to purchase a number of items produced by female entrepreneurs when the exhibition entitled: Women Entrepreneurs of Barbados is staged next week.

The display of heritage products, including condiments, soaps, jewellery and other accessories, will be on show from Monday, June 23 to Saturday, June 28, at Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

The event is being organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in collaboration with the Advisor on Poverty Alleviation.

ITS Summer Programme For Teens To Start Next Month

Teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 are invited to register for an Information Technology Summer Programme entitled ITS for Teens which is being hosted by the Community Development Department.

The programme, which is sponsored by LIME, starts on Monday, July 21, and runs until Friday, August 29, at a number of Resource Centres across the island.

These centres are as follows: Parkinson, Deacons, Grazettes, Haggatt Hall and Bonnetts in St. Michael; Briar Hall and St. Christopher in Christ Church; Speightstown, St. Peter, Weston, St. James; Greens, St. George; and Rices, St. Philip.
