Transport Authority Relocates To The Pine

The public is advised that the office of the Transport Authority is now located at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport and Works, The Pine, St Michael.

Anti-Discrimination Activity In Heroes Square

As part of its fight against discrimination in the workplace, the Project Unit of the Ministry of Labour will be conducting an Anti-Discrimination Awareness Campaign in Heroes Square, The City, on Tuesday, June 30, from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Officers from the Ministry will be distributing literature to sensitise business owners and workers in the area about the issue of workplace discrimination. A short questionnaire will also be handed out to assess what persons understand about the issue.

The event marks the beginning of a series of activities to be conducted in preparation for the enactment and administration of the draft anti-discrimination legislation.

Holetown Assessments Next Month

The Department of Emergency Management (DEM), in collaboration with the District Emergency Organisations and the Barbados Red Cross Society (BRCS), will be conducting vulnerability and capacity assessments in the Holetown area, from next month.

These assessments will be conducted in Porters, Trents, Jamestown Park, Lime Grove, Halcyon Heights, Sunset Crest and Bennetts Road, from Thursday, July 2, to Saturday, July 4; and from Thursday, July 9, until Saturday, July 11.??All assessments will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Persons conducting the vulnerability and capacity assessments will be wearing shirts or vests identifying them as officers from the District Emergency Organisation, or the Barbados Red Cross Society. Members of the public are asked to give their full cooperation.
