Labour Seminar on March 24

???Labour Legislation and Industrial Relations Best Practice??? will be the focus of a seminar to be hosted by the Labour Department on March 24, at the Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael.

The seminar which takes place from 9.00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. forms part of the department’s continuing effort to promote greater labour-management cooperation.

Tsunami Lunchtime Seminar On March 20

The public is invited to attend a lunchtime seminar on Earthquakes and Tsunamis in Barbados on Friday, March 20, at the Queens Park Steel Shed, Constitution Road, St. Michael, beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The lecture will be delivered by Director of the Seismic Research Centre, Dr. Joan Latchman, as part of the activities to mark Coastal Hazard Awareness month which is being celebrated under the theme: Come on Barbados: Let???s Team Up and Combat the Impact of Coastal Hazards.

The event is being hosted by the Technical Standing Committee on Coastal Hazards. All are invited.

FTC Lecture, Friday March 13

Persons are reminded that the Fair Trading Commission will host its 11th Annual Lecture on the topic: Global Trends: Implications for Regulation and Fair Trade, on Friday, March 13, at the Accra Beach Hotel & Spa, Rockley, Christ Church, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Former Governor of the Central Bank and Ambassador and Permanent Representative, Mission of Barbados to the United Nations Office and other International Organisations at Geneva, Dr. Marion Williams, will be the featured speaker.

Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss, will deliver the opening remarks.
