Scholarships On Offer By Government Of Austria

Barbadian students who may wish to pursue diplomas and teacher training programmes may now explore the option of studying in Austria.

The Austrian Development Agency is offering scholarships to its Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Klessheim, Salzburg for the period 2014 to 2015.

The scholarship is expected to cover tuition, fees, health Insurance; excursions (except field trip to ITB Berlin) and there will be a monthly allowance of BDS$5,690.

Students are, however, required to make their own arrangements to cover accommodation, airfare and visa fees. The duration for courses in Hospitality or Tourism Management is eight months from October 2014 to May 2015, while the length of time for teacher training options is nine months from October 2014 until June 2015.

St. George North Constituency Council Meeting Next Tuesday

The public is advised that the St. George North Constituency Council town hall meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 18, and not Monday, March 17, as previously stated.

Late Opening For Brandford Taitt Polyclinic

The Ministry of Health has advised members of the public that the Branford Taitt Polyclinic, Black Rock, St. Michael, will open for service at 11:15 a.m. this Thursday, March 13. Persons are, therefore, advised to arrange their business accordingly.

The late opening is to facilitate an early morning maintenance service by the Barbados Water Authority.

SJPP???S Part Time Courses Start In April

The three-month part time courses of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) will start next month.

The courses which students will be offered include: Principles of Landscaping Design Gardening and Plant Care; Basic Car Maintenance; Introduction To Plumbing; Drapery and Soft Furnishings; Cookery; Cake and Pastry Making; Introduction To Event Planning; Interior Decorating; Massage Therapy; Sound Technology; Computer Aided Drawing; Network Administration and Network Cabling.

The SJPP has advised interested persons to collect application forms from the office at Wildey, St. Michael. They may also be downloaded from the website www.sjpp.edu.bb and should be submitted to the institution by Friday, March 28.
