BADMC To Host Southern Farmers Market

Barbadians are being asked to support local farmers at the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation???s first Southern Farmers Market for the year.

It will take place at the Fairy Valley Plantation House, next to the DHL Building, Christ Church, on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days.

New to the market this month will be Lamb sausages, Lamb burgers and Beef Sausages which will all be available for sale and for sample. Onions will also be on for sale by the bag or the pound.

Persons will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of local fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, milk, eggs and meats. There will also be jams, oils, wines, Carmeta???s Fruit Juices, plants and flowers, among others on sale.??There will be blood pressure, blood sugar and Body Mass Index checks by the Knights Advantage Club. Educational programmes and tours of the Market have also been designed for children of all ages.

Ministry Of Agriculture Continues Plant Clinic Series

The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Agricultural Bureau International, is continuing its series of plant clinics for persons who wish to improve food security by reducing crop losses.

It will take place at the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation Compound, Spring Hall, St Lucy, on Friday, March 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Persons are asked to bring their sick plants to the clinic, as representatives from the Ministry will be on hand to answer any questions on plant health from farmers and householders.

Hearing of The Reference To Convene Wednesday, March 26

A Hearing of the Reference by the Barbados Broadcasting Service Limited in respect of the Copyright Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Inc. is set to convene on Wednesday, March 26, in the Conference Room, 8th Floor, Baobab Tower, Warrens, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Facilitated through the International Business Division of the Ministry of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development and the Copyright Tribunal, the Hearing will be governed by the Copyright Tribunal Regulations, 2004 and heard by the Copyright Tribunal.

Constituency Council Meetings This Weekend

The public is advised that the Department of Constituency Empowerment will continue its series of town hall meetings this weekend.

On Saturday, March 22, the St. Michael South Constituency Council???s meeting will be held at the Graydon Sealy Secondary, at 5:00 p.m.

Then on Sunday, March 23, The St. Peter Council will host its meeting at the Speightstown Resource Centre, while St. Michael North West will meet at the Ellerslie School, both beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Also on Sunday, the St. Philip West Constituency council will head to the Princess Margaret Secondary School at 4:30 p.m.??All meetings will feature reports on the Councils??? activities and members of the public are encouraged to come out and share their views and suggestions.
