SRC To Deliver Lunchtime Lecture

Members of the public are invited to attend a lunchtime lecture on Earthquakes and Tsunamis in Barbados, tomorrow, Friday, March 20, in the Queen???s Park Steel Shed, Constitution Road, St. Michael, beginning at noon.

The lecture will be delivered by Director of the Seismic Research Centre, Dr. Joan Latchman, as part of the activities to mark Coastal Hazard Awareness Month, which is being celebrated under the theme: Come on Barbados: Let???s Team Up and Combat the Impact of Coastal Hazards.

The event is being hosted by the Technical Standing Committee on Coastal Hazards.

Lecture On ???Overlooking The Mosquito???

Overlooking the Mosquito: Medical Practice in the Barbados Theatre of British Military Forces, will be the topic of a lecture to be delivered by Professor Pedro Welch, on Wednesday, March 25, at the Queen???s Park Steel Shed, at 7:00 p.m.

The lecture is the second in the series Of Distempers, Diagnoses and Development: The Provision of Medical Services in Barbados, being hosted by the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, the University of the West Indies??? Department of History and Philosophy, and the National Cultural Foundation.
