Constituency Council Meetings This Week

Members of the public are invited to attend upcoming Constituency Council meetings this week.??

Tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, Christ Church West Central will host its meeting at the Aberdeen Jones Centre, Gall Hill, Christ Church at 7:00 p.m.??St. Michael Central will also host its meeting on Thursday, at the Combermere School Hall, Waterford, at 6:00 p.m.

Christ Church West Central???s meeting will be held on Saturday, March 29 at the Bonnetts Resource Centre at 5:00 p.m.; while Christ Church East Central???s meeting will take place at the Milton Lynch Primary School at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 30.??St. James North will host its meeting on Sunday at the Weston Resource Centre at 4:30 p.m., while St. Michael West Central???s will be held on the same day at the Belfield Pavilion at 5:00 p.m.

The final meeting, that of St. James Central , will be held at the Bagatelle playing field, St Thomas, on Monday, March 31, at 7:00 p.m.

All meetings will feature reports on the Councils??? activities. Constituency members are encouraged to come out and share their views and suggestions.??For additional information, contact the Council???s Programme Assistant, Charles Springer, at 421-8427.

Free Movie Nights This Weekend

Members of the public are invited to attend two free movie nights hosted by the Technical Standing Committee on Coastal Hazards.

The first movie night, Moonlight Movies by the Sea, will be held at the Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve, Holetown, St. James, on Saturday, March 29.??This will be followed by Moonlight Movies under the Sky, on Sunday, March 30, at the Chapel pasture, Chapel Land, St. Philip. Both movies begin at 7:00 p.m.

All are invited and encouraged to walk with blankets and chairs to enjoy these two free events being held to raise awareness about the earthquake and tsunami hazards.??Questions about the hazards will also be addressed during the evening.

Public Advised Of Court Changes

The public is asked to note that all District ???E??? Traffic matters will be heard at the District ???D??? Magistrates??? Court, Rock Hall, St. Thomas, from Wednesday, April 2, and continuing on the first Wednesday of each month until further notice.

Meanwhile, all Holetown Traffic matters will be heard at the District ???F??? Magistrates??? Court, Tamarind Hall Complex, Blackman???s, St. Joseph, from Friday, May 2, and continuing on the first Friday of each month.

Five Schools In Spelling ???B??? Competition

Five schools will compete in the Kiwanis Club Barbados Central Spelling ???B??? Competition tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, at Barbados Workers??? Union Headquarters, Solidarity House, Harmony Hall St. Michael, at 9:00 a.m.

The Schools are St. Lawrence Primary, St. Luke???s-Brighton, Lawrence T. Gay Memorial, Hindsbury Primary and Deacons Primary.

Education Officer, Lomer Rock will deliver remarks on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.??
