Increase Of Acreage In The Cotton Industry
The Cotton Research and Development Unit, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management has advised that the Barbados Cotton Industry will increase its acreage from 280 to 450 for the upcoming cotton season 2014-2015.
Farmers and Agricultural Companies and entities interested in growing cotton during this period are asked to contact Adlai Stevenson, of Exclusive Cottons of the Caribbean Inc. at 433-3108, by no later than Monday, June 30.
Registration Opens For Youth Achieving Results Programme
Persons between the ages of 16 and 29 years are invited to register for the Youth Achieving Results Performing and Visual Arts Training Programme.
The sessions are organised by the Division of Youth in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and the National Cultural Foundation.??Applicants who sig-up for the Visual Arts component of the programme, will learn jewellery making, bag making and other artistic techniques.
Those who register for Performing Arts will study music, technical theatre, drama, dance, and personal development.??The Youth Achieving Results Performing and Visual Arts Training Programme will take place three evenings a week from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays for a period of nine months.
Interested persons should register at the Division of Youth, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael by Friday, May 30.

Senior Games Athletes??? Notice
All athletes who participated in the National Senior Games, which were held April 26 and 27, and have not yet received their medals are being invited to collect them next week.
Collections will be facilitated at the Ministry of Social Care???s conference room, 4th Floor Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael on Wednesday, May 28, Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
