Ticket Purchases From SSA

A $25 per tonne tipping fee for haulers taking waste to the Sustainable Barbados Recycling Centre was implemented on May 4.

The Ministry of the Environment and Drainage is advising that payments may be made by purchasing a full book of tickets at any one time, or by a single ticket for those collecting less than one tonne of waste.

Tickets may be purchased from the Sanitation Service Authority, Wildey, St. Michael, during regular business hours.

Coconut Vendors Reminded To Clean-Up

The Ministry of the Environment and Drainage is reminding coconut vendors that they must ensure the removal of all waste generated as a result of their vending, within 24 hours of the business day.??This is in keeping with the country???s commitment to maintain a clean green environment.

Firemen To Cook-Off On Bank Holiday

Firemen will stage a cook-off on Monday, May 25, at the Bridgetown Fire Station, Probyn Street, St. Michael, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Members of the public are invited to come out and see who will be crowned King Chef of the Firehouse, as five fire officers show off their skills in the kitchen, during the inaugural Massy Stores Fire Officers??? Cook Off.

This cook-off forms part of the celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the Barbados Fire Service, and the 50th anniversary of the Barbados Fire Service Association.
