St. John???s Folk Festival This Saturday

The public is invited to the St. John Parish Independence Committee???s Folk Festival this Saturday, November 15, at the Gall Hill Hard Court, St. John, at 1:00 p.m.

The event is being held to revive folk music in the parish, as well as to celebrate Independence.??

Patrons will be treated with performances from Smokey Burke, Johnny Koieman, Addington Forde and Richard Layne.

The featured acts will be the Pride of Wilson Hill Community and Folk Group and the Original St. John Dramatic and Folk Singing Group.

In addition, primary schools participating in the parish???s folk song competition will also perform. Admission is free.

St. Peter???s Awards Ceremony??November 16

Young persons who participated in the St. Peter???s Parish Independence Committee???s skills development workshops will be awarded on Sunday, November 16.

The awards ceremony will be held at St. Peter???s Parish Church, Church Street, Speightstown, at 4:00 p.m.

During the year, workshops were offered to unemployed youth in the areas of jewellery making, make-up artistry, as well as donut, cake, nut-cake and pastry making.

Bathsheba By Night A Perfect Family Event

The St. Joseph Parish Independence Committee is inviting everyone to a community talent show entitled: Bathsheba by Night.

It will be held this Saturday, November 15, at Bathsheba Park, St. Joseph, starting at 5:00 p.m.??During the event, a variety of acts from the parish will perform, while patrons can enjoy Bajan food and drinks.

Billed as a perfect event for the entire family, Bathsheba by Night is part of St. Joseph???s celebrations for Independence, themed: Building Bridges, All Ah We Is One.
