UDC Cricket Match

The batting and bowling exploits of the staffers of the Urban and the Rural Development Commissions will be put to the test during a cricket match on the eve of Independence.

The match will be played on November 29, at the Dover cricket field, Christ Church, starting at 6:00 p.m.

The public is invited to attend and lend support to their favourite player or team.

Island Wide Road Tennis Playoffs Continue This Weekend

Road tennis fans are invited to come out and support players from around the island as the preliminaries of the National Sports Council???s Island wide Road Tennis Championship continues this weekend.

Tomorrow, Friday, November 15, players from St. Thomas will compete at Farmers, from 7.00 p.m., while Road View, St. Peter will be the venue for St. Lucy and St. Peter players on Saturday, November 16, beginning at 6.00 p.m.

On Sunday, November 17, St. James road tennis players will display their prowess at Weston, St. James, beginning at 7.00 p.m.

Private Candidates Should Collect CXC Certificates at Ministry

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation is reminding private candidates, who registered at the Ministry to write the May/June 2013 CXC CSEC and CAPE examinations at the Wildey Gymnasium, to collect their certificates.

These may be collected from the Examinations Department at the Ministry???s Elsie Payne Headquarters between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Students must present their picture identification card on collection of their certificates.

Meanwhile, students who sat CXC examinations, other than at the Gymnasium should collect their certificates at the respective school or institution.

The Ministry is also urging persons who wrote examinations in January 2013 and have not yet collected their certificates to do so.

Schools to Receive BMEX Awards November 18

Schools that participated in the 2013 Barbados Manufacturers??? Exhibition (BMEX) will next Monday, November 18, receive their awards from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.

The brief ceremony will be held in the Auditorium of the Media Resource Department (MRD), Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael at 10:00 a.m.

Chief Audio Visual Aids Officer, Walter Harper will address the ceremony and make the presentations to the schools.
