QEH In Urgent Need Of Blood
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital???s Blood Collecting Centre at Jemmott???s Lane, St. Michael, located next to the Winston Scott Polyclinic, is in dire need of blood.
Blood donations may be made Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., and on Saturdays, between 8:00 and 11:30 a.m. Persons ages 18 to 65 are eligible to give blood.
St. Michael West Central’s Independence Parade
Members of the public are invited to attend a flag raising ceremony and parade scheduled to be held on the weekend following Independence.
The event, which is being organised by the St. Michael West Central Constituency Council, will come off on Saturday, December 6, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., at the Belfield Playing Field, Black Rock, St. Michael, to celebrate Barbados??? 48th Anniversary of Independence.
The combined cadet corps of the St. Leonard???s Boys??? and Ellerslie Secondary Schools will participate in the ceremonial part of the proceedings, while Minister of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment and Community Development, Steven Blackett, and Member of Parliament for that constituency, James Paul, will receive the salute.
Refreshments will be on sale and music provided.
