Ebola Training At Isolation Centre Tomorrow

An Ebola training session will take place at the Isolation Centre at Enmore tomorrow, Saturday, November 29, and some medical personnel will be outfitted in Personal Protective Equipment suits.

Members of the public are advised not to be alarmed, since this forms part of the training exercise.

Sensitisation Session For Tourism Stakeholders

The Ministry of Tourism and International Transport will host an Ebola Virus Disease sensitisation session for tourism stakeholders to increase their awareness of the disease and its symptoms.

The session will be conducted by officials from the Ministry of Health on Wednesday, December 3, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

The informative meeting is necessary in light of increased cruise passengers to the island. Long-stay visitors are also expected to be in the country for the winter tourist season, which officially begins on Monday, December 15. Interested persons are asked to register by contacting the Ministry of Tourism at 430-7500.

Second Coastal Lecture Tomorrow, November 29

Members of the public are reminded that the second lecture, entitled Why Coastal Zone Management, being hosted by the Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU), comes off tomorrow, Saturday, November 29, at the Holetown Concrete Walkway, Holetown, St. James, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Persons attending this lecture may access the walkway from the Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve. Speakers for this lecture are Acting Director of the CZMU, Dr. Lorna Inniss, Acting Coastal Planner, Fabian Hinds and Acting Director of the Drainage Division, Antonio Rowe. A jumping tent will be provided for children during the lecture.
