Disaster Preparedness Meeting For St. Michael South Communities

All residents of communities within the St. Michael South constituency are invited to a meeting on Disaster Preparedness. It will take place this Thursday, October 3, at the Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dalkeith Hill, St. Michael, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Representatives from a number of health and emergency organisations will be on hand to deliver presentations on the importance of disaster preparedness.??

Barbados Landship Book Launch This Saturday

The Barbados Landship will launch its first book, Full Steam Ahead: Locating the Barbados Landship, on Saturday, October 5.

The event is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. at the Barbados Community College???s Fine Arts Gallery, Morning Side Complex, ???Eyrie??? Howell???s Cross Road, St. Michael.

Author of the book, Dr. Nancy Jacobs, will give the feature address. Dr. Jacobs explained that the book examines social and cultural linkages between the Barbados Landship and West Africa traditions.

The public is invited to attend.
