Training for SPBMP Teams

Teams from all 22 public secondary schools and five private secondary schools, responsible for the implementation of the Schools??? Positive Behaviour Management Programme (SPBMB) in their respective institutions, will participate in a two-day training workshop next week.

The workshop will be held on Monday, October 20, and Tuesday, October 21, at United Nations House, Marine Gardens, Hastings, Christ Church, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The five private secondary schools participating are Barbados Seventh-Day Adventist Secondary School, St. Winifred???s School, The Ursuline Convent, Windsor High School, and Metropolitan High School.

The objective of the workshop is to ensure that school teams are familiar with their roles in the implementation of the SPBMP within their respective schools. It is also expected to equip teams to perform their roles in the implementation of the SPBMP and to facilitate the sharing of best practices.

This training follows a series workshops geared towards sensitising several groups within the school system. The first workshop was held on September 29 for Deputy Principals, while Senior Teachers attached to first forms were sensitised on October 8. On October 9, a similar exercise was held for Senior Teachers attached to second forms.

Admin Section of Fire Service to Close Early on Tuesday

Members of the public have been advised that the Administration section of Barbados Fire Service Headquarters, General Post Office Building, Cheapside, Bridgetown, will close at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21.

This early closure is to facilitate the attendance of staff at the funeral of former Acting Station Officer/Divisional Officer, Glanville Collins. The Barbados Fire Service regrets any inconvenience caused.
